Honestly, I was never much of a fan of Halloween which is probably why, I dreaded spending a ton of money on a costume after spending hours trying to figure out what the costume would be! So, if that is you, read on!
Here are ten creative and inexpensive Halloween costume ideas for children:
Mummy: Wrap your child in old white bed sheets or torn strips of white fabric to create a classic mummy costume. Add some face paint for an authentic look.
Ghost: A simple white sheet with holes for the eyes can transform your child into a friendly ghost. Add a little creativity by drawing spooky or silly faces on the sheet.
Lego Block: Use cardboard boxes to create a Lego block costume. Paint the box in bright colors and attach plastic cups or containers for the Lego "studs." Your child can wear the box like a tunic.
Crayon: Dress your child in brightly colored clothing and create a crayon wrapper out of poster board. Cut a hole for their face and arms, and label it with their favorite crayon color.
Scarecrow: Borrow some old clothes and stuff them with newspapers or straw. Paint a cute scarecrow face on your child, and they're ready to go as a scarecrow.
Jellyfish: Attach long, dangling strips of clear plastic or iridescent streamers to an umbrella, and have your child hold it above their head. Add some LED lights for an extra effect.
